Our FOIs is a public evidence project created by The Sovereign Nation of Shetland (TSNS). Its purpose is straightforward: where an organisation asserts authority in Shetland—especially where it demands money, imposes duties, or claims enforcement powers—it should be able to show the lawful basis on which that authority rests.
Freedom of Information requests are a lawful, peaceful way to ask public authorities for the documents and records they rely upon. This site maintains a public record of what was requested and what was produced (or not).
In January 2025 we began submitting FOI requests using a third-party platform. After initial requests received replies close to the statutory time limit, we discovered our account had been banned without warning or explanation. We therefore established ourfois.com as an independent public archive under our own control.
